South African Airways (SAA) advises all its customers who are holding open tickets and travel EMD voucher (Electronic Miscellaneous Document), that your travel credit voucher expires on Friday, 31st March 2023.
Following business rescue, SAA made available the option for customers holding un-flown airline tickets to exchange for a credit voucher. These unused tickets and credit vouchers are expiring on the above-mentioned date, not unless customers elect one of the following three options:
- Customers can convert their credit voucher to SAA Voyager Wallet (V- Wallet). This option transfers the value of the credit voucher to SAA Voyager miles, which can be used on SAA flights, Star Alliance partner airlines, other airline partners or non-airline Voyager partners. The miles will be valid for a period of 3 years, from the date of conversion( 1 April 2023), and SAA will give customers 15% additional miles based on the fare at the time of transferring the credit voucher to Voyager miles. - Credit vouchers can be utilised to book your next airline ticket and fly on a future date. For this option, please email: EMDRedemption@flysaa.com. This ticket will be valid for 1 year/(12 months) from the date of issue (Please Note: Fare Rules will Apply, after which the normal validity of the ticket will apply.)
- If customers are holding a ticket which has not been converted to a credit voucher, customers can convert their un-flown tickets to V-Wallet and receive 15% additional miles. Voyager Credit Wallet - South African Airways (flysaa.com)
