Onboard Flight Menus
On a long-haul flight, we aim to make our meals a highlight of the journey. That’s why two of South Africa’s most sought-after chefs, Reuben Riffel and Benny Masekwameng, have come onboard to create signature dishes that could be served with pride in any top restaurant.
Reuben now runs his own restaurant in Franschhoek as well as running a signature restaurant in Cape Town’s One and Only Hotel. Now you too can taste his delicious treats without waiting for a table reservation.
Working with Benny is an absolute treat. The Tsogo Sun celebrity chef and a popular judge on MasterChef South Africa has added an inspiring and tantalising touch to our menus.
From starters to desserts, each dish has been carefully designed for its taste, texture and travelling star qualities. We always have a vegetarian option available too. Award-winning South African wines and Méthode Cap Classique bubbly has been specially selected to pair with our chefs’ designer dishes.
Depending on the length of your flight, we will serve you a light snack or a delicious multi-course meal made using our very best local products. All snacks, meals and beverages are complimentary and are included in your ticket price.
If you have any food allergies or special dietary requirements, such as gluten-free, vegan or nut-free, SAA can serve a suitable meal for you on any of our flights. Please order and confirm your requirement no less than 48 hours before departure time. Kosher meals should be ordered and confirmed no less than 72 hours before departure.
