Dear Customer

South African Airways have received information from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority following a notice from the Ghana Immigration Service that with effect from 21 March 2023 the filling of embarkation and disembarkation cards at Kotoka International Airport in Accra would be discontinued.

"The introduction of the new measure is in line with the Government of Ghana's digitalization agenda. As such, travellers entering or exiting Ghana will no longer be required to fill disembarkation and embarkation cards as part of immigration entry and exit formalities."

The 10 day pilot commences on 21 March 2023, with a full roll out from 31 March 2023. Arriving and departing travellers will not be provided with disembarkation and embarkation cards but will be required to provide the following information at the immigration processing booth:

1. Address in Ghana and abroad

2.Phone numbers

3. Flight details (airline and flight number)

4. Purpose of Visit

5.Profession

6.Duration of Stay

As a result of this new system it is probable that immigration processing time would take longer than normal, as immigration personnel get familiar with the new process. South African Airways customers departing Accra are encouraged to allow for additional time at the airport to complete immigration formalities and ensure that boarding procedures are completed on-time.
