Perth International Airport offers non-stop flights to the Johannesburg, South Africa with onward connections in Africa, Europe and USA destinations.

Terminals

Perth International Airport has a domestic terminal and international terminal. The international terminal is connected to the Virgin Australia Terminal, SAA’s codeshare partner. If travelling with Qantas or Jetsar, a bus service connects passengers to Terminal 3 and 4.  Passengers with a regional connection have a short walk to Terminal 2.

Check-in

Airport check-in and bag drop

All SAA check-in desks are located within Terminal 1 at International. SAA’s check-in desk utilize desk numbers 1-7.

Airport check-in opens at 20h40 in the evening

Online check-in

To avoid queuing at the airport, online check-in opens 24 hours before each flight and will remain open until 2 hours before departure.

  • You can select your seats free of charge and print your boarding pass in advance.
  • If you do not have access to a printer, you can print it from the self-service kiosks at the airport or download it to your mobile device, if you are flying from an eligible airport.
  • At the airport use the self-service kiosk to print your baggage tag.
  • A dedicated bag drop is available at the airport for a smooth, hassle-free start to your journey. A member of staff will be on hand if you need help.

Connections

Connecting at Perth airport is simple and easy.

Domestic – Domestic connections

When flying within Australia through Perth International Airport, bags are through-checked to the final destination. However, all passengers and baggage must be cleared at Perth.

Recommended minimum connecting time from domestic to international is one and a half hours. Connecting time from international to domestic is two hours. Please allow extra time if you require special assistance or you are travelling with children.

Lounges

South African Airways uses the Air New Zealand lounge, situated in the transit area on the departure level.

Getting to and from the airport

Perth International Airport is approximately 16km from Perth’s city centre.

Taxi

The taxi rank is located in front of the International Terminal.

Car hire

Several car hire providers can be found in the front of the Perth International Terminal  or you can enquire at the Information Desk which is found as you exit the arrivals terminal.

Bus

The  bus service is located in front of the terminal building. More information can be found on www.transperth.wa.gov.au.
