SAA Cargo offers a range of products which are serviced through a combination of the line flights, purchase of capacity from strategic partner airlines and freighter service for regional transhipment. This is supplemented by an extensive global interline and road feeder service.

  • This service guarantees that cargo enjoys priority retrieval at its destination, meaning our customers can bring cargo closer to flying time, or stay ahead of the competition.

    Please note that parcels should not exceed specified size limits and that all goods are to be packaged "to go" and handed in at the Express Counter at Domestic / International Forwarding Sections.

    South African Airways Cargo operates dedicated freighters on domestic routes that cater for overnight express goods.

    Express@SAACargo is an express service offered on international routes between Johannesburg, London, Frankfurt and Perth.

    Domestic Day-time Express

    The fastest domestic daytime carriage of urgent freight:

    • Comprehensive domestic network
    • 45 minute lodgement in DUR, PLZ and ELS and a 45 minute lodgement in JNB and CPT
    • Maximum weight: 80kg per piece
    • Dimension restrictions: maximum weight, height, width and length depend on the aircraft type.

    • A premium service for urgent freight which must fly
    • Both a bulk and a small parcel service are offered
    • Express parcels - 180 minute lodgement time prior to standard time of departure

    International Bulk Cargo Booked Express

    • Bookings require a minimum of 8 hours prior to standard time of departure
    • Unitised cargo - 180 minute lodgement time prior to standard time of departure
    • Priority retrieval at destination and no weight restrictions
    • Maximum dimensions as per aircraft door size
    • Exclusions: AVI, HUM, DGR and VAL

    • A facility with highly skilled, specialised staff physically handling the product - fast and efficiently
    • A wide variety of items such as clothing, documents, and household goods are welcomed as courier traffic
