Johannesburg, 27 September 2011. South African Airways (SAA) and its low cost subsidiary, Mango, today announced the conclusion of a second codeshare agreement between Lanseria and Cape Town. This agreement follows the successful implementation of the coastal agreement between Durban and Cape Town late last year.
SAA passengers are able to book on codeshare flights operated by Mango between Lanseria and Cape Town. This route was launched in June this year with an average of three frequencies daily in either direction. “We are pleased to welcome SAA as a codeshare partner on the Lanseria – Cape Town route,” says Mango CEO Nico Bezuidenhout. “Our operation at Lanseria has shown significant promise during its first quarter of operation indicating growth opportunity in the Gauteng-West region. We also believe that with the addition of the codeshare agreement to our Lanseria base, an additional stream of bookings from SAA as marketing carrier, will further cement our success at the port.”
As with the code-share between Durban and Cape Town, SAA passengers will continue to enjoy traditional economy class benefits. When travelling on Mango, SAA travellers will earn Voyager miles and receive onboard snacks and beverages. Mango’s business travel products, Mango Plus and Mango Flex, are also available on the route.
