Mango Airlines has been a success from the moment it took to the skies on 15 November 2006. Building on the demand that saw 10 000 fare queries a minute in 2006, Mango is now recognized by Skytrax World Airline Awards as the Best Low Cost Airline in Africa for the last two years.

We have grown from the original 4 Boeing 737-800’s to a fleet of 10 aircraft – 9 Boeing 737 -800’s and 1 Boeing 737- 300 – serving 6 South African destinations and Zanzibar. Mango was the first South African airline to offer on-board wi-fi, and app’s for booking and the ability to pay through mobile payment services. AND, we remain the only airline globally to offer our customers the option to pay with store charge cards.

Mango staff are constantly challenging themselves to push the envelope of convention. We are continually developing new products and technologies focussed on service excellence which explains our 18 PRISM Awards for Corporate Communication. Or the multiple ACSA Feather Awards we’ve received for Customer Service Excellence.

Mango’s key areas of focus are:

  • Innovation
  • Operational efficiency
  • Guest Service
