Mauritius Update
Effective 01 June 2023 smoking is prohibited in all indoor public places, including airports, workplaces and public transport. Smoking is also prohibited in a number of outdoor areas, including outside the airport, government buildings, health facilities, educational institutions, cafes, bars and restaurants.
Smoking is also prohibited while driving or travelling in a passenger vehicle, or while in a stationary vehicle carrying passengers.
There are strict regulations concerning cigarettes, water pipes and e-cigarettes. Customers should ensure they obtain the required information prior to travel to ensure that items are not confiscated at customs.
