EASY STEPS TO COMPLETE YOUR PURCHASE

- 48 hours before your flight you will receive an invitation to purchase MY EXTRA SEAT
- Choose your seat and then a 1, 2 or 3 additional seat selections that is available and meets your needs
- Complete your payment (Multiple Currency Pricing available)
- Once the payment is successful, we will e-mail your confirmation to you
Note that MY EXTRA SEAT is available for purchase when you receive an email from us or when you check-in online within 24 hours and up to 3 hours prior to scheduled time of flight departure
- The following terms and conditions ('Terms and Conditions") shall apply to the purchase ("Purchase") made by you ("you") for the MY-EXTRA-SEAT ("MY-EXTRA-SEAT") service to purchase additional seats ("Additional Seats") on a flight operated by South African Airways ("SAA"). The opportunity to purchase additional seats shall not apply to South African Airways ("SAA") codeshare flight numbers or flights that are not operated by SAA.
- The purchase of the MY-EXTRA-SEAT service shall apply solely to the single flight sector (ie. One Way) and not in respect of additional flight sectors within the same itinerary.
- The MY-EXTRA-SEAT service is only available on specific flight numbers, routes and/or travel dates that are identified by SAA in its sole discretion.
- The purchase of the MY-EXTRA-SEAT service is subject to the customer having purchased a valid economy class ticket issued by or on behalf of South African Airways and the ticket number starting with (083).
- The purchase of the MY-EXTRA-SEAT service excludes Unaccompanied Minors, persons travelling in groups and persons seated in an emergency exit row.
- Purchases can only be completed, subject to availability, within 48 hours to 3 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure of the flight booked.
- The purchase of the MY-EXTRA-SEAT service is instant.
- A confirmation and receipt for the MY-EXTRA-SEAT purchase would be e-mailed to the email address provided at the time of booking and/or purchase of the service.
- Only Mastercard, VISA and American Express credit cards are accepted for payment.
- The service does not include any additional benefits including but not limited to lounge access, priority check-in, priority boarding, Voyager miles, additional baggage allowances or any special service on board.
- There shall be no refunds, credits or exchanges once the purchase has been completed, your credit card has been charged and the purchase has been accepted by SAA; unless your travel has been involuntary disrupted including but not limited to any of the following reasons, schedule changes, aircraft change, flight cancellation, in-operable seats, safety or security reasons, or you were not able to be seated by us on your assigned seat/s.
- By purchasing this service, the customer acknowledges, understands and accepts these Terms and Conditions
- SAA reserves the right to modify and/or change these Terms and Conditions without prior notice, subject to applicable laws, rules and regulations at its own discretion. Except as provided for in the preceding sentence, no amendment, modification, or waiver to these Terms and Conditions shall be binding on SAA unless made in writing and signed by an authorised officer of SAA.

What is MY EXTRA SEAT?
Economy class travellers have the option to purchase additional seats on a flight for addtional space and comfort.
Who is eligible for MY EXTRA SEAT?
Any Economy Class traveller holding a ticket irrespective of FARE paid.
Note: This service excludes Unaccompanied Minors, persons travelling in a group booking and persons seated on the emergency exit row.
When is the purchase of MY EXTRA SEAT available?
MY EXTRA SEAT purchases are available 24 hours and up to 3 hours prior to departure when using our online check-in facility only.
How can I purchase a MY EXTRA SEAT?
48 hours prior to the flights original time of departure we will send you an invitation to participate in the purchase of the MY EXTRA SEAT service. To complete the purchase you would need to check-in online which opens 24 hours prior to flight departure.
Is MY EXTRA SEAT available for sale at the airport?
We regret that the MY EXTRA SEAT service is only available for purchase online.
How many names on a single reservation can block seats on a flight?
A maximum number of 2 persons on a single reservation can block seats on a flight
What is the maximum number of seats that can be blocked on a flight?
1, 2 or 3 seats can be purchased on a flight. This is dependent on the operating aircraft seat configuration, availability of the preferred seat/s.
What is the cost of MY EXTRA SEAT?
The cost is far lower than the original FARE paid and gets cheaper when adding more seats However, the rates vary in accordance with the origin and destination.
What form of payment can be used to complete the purchase?
At this stage Mastercard, Visa and American Express can be used to complete the purchase.
When will I be charged?
The payment is processed immediately after completing the purchase accurately.
Can I change or cancel MY EXTRA SEAT after purchase?
Voluntary changes and/or cancellations for a MY EXTRA SEAT purchase is not permitted. If you change the date or flight on your reservation, your MI-SEAT purchase would be forfeited.
Is the MY EXTRA SEAT purchase refundable?
The purchase of this service is non-refundable unless we have inconvenienced you as a result of a flight disruption which is including but not limited to a schedule change, aircraft change, flight cancellation or any operational safety and/or security reason. In this case we shall refund you no later than 21 days from your request. Your request must include the original boarding pass for the flight in question, where applicable.
How would I know if the MY EXTRA SEAT purchase has been confirmed?
After completing your payment and it is successful, we would e-mail you a confirmation of your purchase which you would need to keep on you when travelling.
