Our relationship with the South African Senior Men’s national team goes way back to 1996 when SAA was one of the forces behind BAFANA BAFANA as they lifted the CAF African Nations Cup on home soil.  Memories of victory and the triumphant calls, “Ndizani Bafana-Bafana, Ndizani” that reverberated throughout the iconic Soccer City are still vivid in the minds of South Africans. 

We are immensely proud to be associated with the South African Men’s Senior National Team, through a value in kind sponsorship agreement that was signed in March 2016. The sponsorship secures the South African national carrier as the official airline for BAFANA BAFANA for a period of five years.

Many synergies exist between the two brands as both fly the national flag and warm the hearts of millions of South Africans. Football is the most popular sport in the world and this partnership shows our support for a sport which cuts across cultures.

The partnership is based on a strategic alignment of a proud national carrier and a proud national team.
