ABSA MARATHON 2026

Absa Marathon is Zambia's premier running event, organized annually by ABSA BANK ZAMBIA in partnership with the LUSAKA FITNESS SQUAD (LFS). First launched in 2018, it has grown into the “mother of all marathons". This year the marathon will have 10,000 participants, that largest number ever in Zambia. The marathon is the only World Athletics Certified marathon in Zambia and additionally is also qualifier for the Comrades Ultra Marathon.

The race routinely draws thousands of participants from across Zambia, the African region, and globally Beyond promoting health and fitness, the marathon serves as a platform for heavy social investment and sports tourism.
