Spring

Bold
move strengthens operations in West Africa
South
African Airways, the leading carrier on the African continent, recently
announced the launch of its inaugural flight between Accra (Ghana) and
Washington DC (United States of America).

The
new route substantially strengthens SAA’s presence in West Africa. The
first flight departed from Kotoka International Airport in Accra at
22:45, Sunday 2 August, following a celebratory send-off, to the
Washington Dulles International Airport in Washington DC. On-board
were the Ghanaian Minister of Transportation, Honourable Dzifa Aku
Attivo, as well as a contingent of high profile Ghanaian government
officials, executives, media and other guests. SAA Voyager also
launched a Voyager Credit Card in partnership with Ecobank on 31 July
2015, specifically for the Ghanaian market.

introduces a Chargeable Advance Seat Reservation system

South
African Airways has expanded its customer value proposition through the
introduction of a Chargeable Advance Seat Reservation system. Whether
travelling alone, or in company, we all have our seating preferences.
It may be a matter of choosing between an aisle, or window, making sure
you are seated with your family, or knowing you can look forward to a
little extra legroom. From as little as R50, the choice will be in the
hands of SAA’s customers. SAA customers
will now be able to choose where they wish to sit in advance.
The Advanced Seat Reservation can be done free of charge for Lifetime
Platinum and Platinum
Voyager members booked in any booking class. Gold Voyager members
booked in PLUS (V/T/Q/S/H) and Select (Y/B/M/K) fare families are also
excluded.
