Star Alliance RTW tickets can be booked online at www.staralliance/book-fly.
The “Star Alliance Book & Fly” tool is available in English,
German
and Japanese. It allows customers to plan their RTW journey from the
comfort of their own home, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Those
wishing to share their travel plans can do so via email or the
integrated social media functionality. Once all flights have been
booked, electronic tickets can be easily issued via the online tool.
Alternatively customers can contact any Star Alliance member airline or
a travel agent to book and purchase an RTW ticket.

Several of SAA’s domestic frequencies were transferred to our low-cost
subsidiary Mango, to strengthen SAA Group commercially. The changes
came into effect on 15 January 2018; and as a Voyager member, it is
important to note that you will continue earning miles, even on
Mango-operated flights, but your flight must bear an SA flight number
(SA2000 – SA2199). You are still able to redeem your miles on any SAA
Group flight, including Mango.
Effective in tandem with the changes, you will earn revenue-based
mileage (1 Voyager Mile
for every R1.60 spent) when booked on the SAA
marketing flight number where Mango is the operating carrier and these
Miles will count towards tier status. You will furthermore continue to
enjoy the SAA baggage allowance and lounge access based on your tier
status. The seamless transfer to the regional and international network
services of SAA will continue.
SAA is proud to announce a code-share agreement
with TAAG Angola Airlines. As part of the extended agreement, SAA
code-shares with TAAG on their direct services between Johannesburg and
Luanda and between Cape Town and Luanda.
You will earn Miles when you are booked on the SAA flight number.

As a reminder please note that no show fees are charged when passengers
do not show up at the airport for their flights. Fees charged for SAA
domestic flights are R570 for Economy and R1 140 for Business Class per
no show. The fees applicable for regional and international routes
varies and are according to the fare rules associated with your
itinerary.
The partnership with Legacy Lifestyle will end on 28 February 2018. You
will be able to convert Voyager Miles to Legacy Rands until midnight on
28 February South African time.
Looking in the rear-view mirror of the past month, we realise that no
matter how seasoned we are as travellers, airline operational
quandaries, due to inclement weather, can cause disruptions of the
highest order, especially if it is towards the end of a family holiday.
When an airline cancels your flight because of some force majeure
event; your options are either a refund or the next available seat to
your destination. Additional travel insurance is available from travel
insurance and financial services providers for these unplanned
situations, albeit limited.
