The flagship event of the international cricket calendar, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will be hosted by Australia and New Zealand from 14 February to 29 March 2015. 49 matches will be played in 14 venues with Australia staging 26 games at grounds in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney while New Zealand hosts 23 games in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Napier, Nelson and Wellington. The final match of the tournament will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Baobab Premium Class Lounge will be completely refurbished over the next few months to present to you a world-class Domestic Departures Lounge at O.R. Tambo International Airport. During this time, SAA will be opening a temporary lounge in the Domestic Terminal at D Gates on 4 February 2015. The temporary lounge will regrettably have limited facilities and in the event of capacity constraints, SAA will issue vouchers to eligible guests to make use of facilities at alternate airside vendors.

SAA would like to advise our valued customers that hand luggage regulations as determined by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) and supported by the airport authority in Johannesburg will be enforced from 2 February 2015.

Although other airline customers may take only 7kg on board as hand luggage, SAA has an exemption from SACAA. Allowing our customers up to 8kg.

However, the number of pieces and sizes must be adhered to. No bag should exceed 56cm x 36cm x 23cm (total dimensions of 115cm) or weigh more than 8kg per bag.

Number of bags allowed are as follows:

•	Economy-class customers are allowed one bag plus one slimline laptop bag.
•	Business-class customers are allowed two bags plus one slimline laptop bag.

Slimline laptop bags must be of a size and thickness specifically designed to carry a laptop and charger. Handbags are considered part of a customer's wardrobe and not as hand baggage.

Baggage capable of carrying other items such as documents and clothes can be considered as cabin baggage if within the allowance.

Kindly ensure that your hand luggage is as per the above. If hand luggage does not comply, you will be referred back to the check-in counters to check the baggage in as hold baggage. Where applicable, SAA excess baggage fees will be charged.

We expect that during the initial implementation period, travellers might experience some delays in the check-in and security processes at all airports due to congestion. It is advisable that travellers arrive in good time for their flights as the first few weeks may see the process extended due to every piece of baggage (checked and carry-on) requiring weighing and checking prior to boarding.

We would like to remind you that SAA will launch a daily service between Johannesburg and Abu Dhabi on 29 March 2015, which will complement Etihad Airways' existing flights between the two cities to offer a combined double-daily frequency on the route.

In addition, the airlines are enhancing their frequent flyer programmes, aligning Etihad Guest and SAA Voyager, with even more opportunities for members to earn and redeem miles. Benefits such as priority baggage handling, priority boarding, priority check-in, and airport lounge access across the airlines' networks are provided based on membership tiers. SAA has commenced adding more frequencies to its network which will substantially increase air services to some of its key African routes.

SAA increased frequencies between Johannesburg and Maputo from 17 to 21 weekly, Johannesburg and Harare from 18 to 19 weekly, Johannesburg and Kinshasa from 6 to 7 weekly and Johannesburg and Mauritius from 9 to 10 weekly.

Please be reminded that the US Airways frequent flyer participation agreement has been terminated as of 17 January 2015.

Please note effective 1 February 2015, SAA Voyager members will no longer be able to use their Miles for an upgrade on the Dubai SAA codeshare route. Upgrades that have already been issued for travel after 1 February 2015 between Johannesburg and Dubai will be honoured.

SAA Voyager now offers added benefits, reduced complexities and, clear and transparent terms and conditions.

Here are some highlights*:

1. Earn 1 Mile for every R1.60 spent on qualifying SAA flights.

2. Revenue-based accrual of Miles on SAA operating flights:

SAA Voyager Miles will be awarded per flown flight sector once the flight sector appears in our revenue accounting system. The accrual of revenue-based Miles per flown flight sector of your ticket will be pro-rated per flight sector in relation to the total base fare and fuel levy paid per ticket. Revenue-based accruals may take up to 15 days to reflect on your SAA Voyager account.

3. Enjoy Dynamic Awards by purchasing any available seat with your Miles, inclusive of the fuel levy, exclusively on SAA operated flights.

4. From 1 January 2015 our Elite Members have been enjoying additional membership benefits specifically intended at promoting consistency of service, to ensure an enhanced experience.

Congratulations to all our Members who achieved a higher Tier status in 2014 and those who have maintained their current Tier status for the year 2015.

With effect from 01 January 2015 the following tiering thresholds apply:

•	Silver status – achieve 30 000 miles annually to attain Silver tier status
•	Gold status – achieve 60 000 miles annually to attain Gold tier status
•	Platinum status – achieve 120 000 miles annually to attain Platinum status or maintain Gold tier status for 5 consecutive years to receive Platinum status which will be valid for 1 year.
•	Lifetime Platinum status –Earn a minimum of 120 000 SAA Tier Miles per calendar year and achieve a cumulative minimum accrual of 720 000 SAA Tier Miles during a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 consecutive years, to attain the coveted Lifetime Platinum status. Note: Transitional qualifying thresholds will be calculated until Dec 2017 for our Platinum Members already working towards Lifetime Platinum status. The next Miles expiry will run on 31 March 2015. If you have any expiring Miles, you may redeem or donate to one of our charity organisations. To do so please logon to www.flysaa.com.

Miles will not expire if the following criteria were met by 31 December 2014:

•	5 000 SAA Tier Miles or
•	3 000 SA Express Miles.

Effective 01 January 2015, the criteria for saving Miles due to expire in 2016 and beyond is as follows:

•	6 000 SAA Tier Milesin the calendar year preceding the expiry date.
•	SA Express criteria will no longer apply.

Lifetime Platinum members have an additional option of spending R300 000 or more on their SAA Voyager Premium credit card during calendar year.

In celebration of Etihad and SAA's extended codeshare agreement, SAA Voyager members will earn Double Miles on all Etihad operated flights beyond Abu Dhabi.

•	Promotion period: 15 April 2015 – 31 May 2015.
•	Double Miles are applicable on Etihad operating flights only.
•	Double Miles will be awarded for flights flown within the promotion period.
•	The entire journey must be completed within the promotion dates.
•	Flights between Johannesburg and Abu Dhabi are excluded from this promotion.
•	The promotion is valid in all revenue class fares.
