April 2016 marks SAA's 10th anniversary with Star Alliance.
SAA joined Star Alliance on 10 April 2006, and since then our SAA
Voyager members have access to more destinations around the world with
seamless connectivity. Just as a reminder you earn Tier Miles on all 28
Star Alliance partner airlines. To celebrate this milestone, we are
giving you the opportunity to win 10 000 Voyager

Since 1994, April has been a special month for South
Africans, when we celebrate Freedom Day on 27 April. Who can

Airports Company South Africa has advised that the immigration and
security screening area accessible from Terminal A, will be closed for
approximately six to eight weeks for refurbishment.
South
African Airways, the leading airline on the African continent, has
retained its 4-Star rating for the 14th consecutive year, demonstrating
that the airline’s place in the global aviation world is secure.
The rating was done by aviation
experts Skytrax, after detailed
product and service standard audits were conducted throughout
the airline in November
2015. Skytrax is associated with quality and excellence all
over the world by the air transport industry.

Miles
redeemed for Award certificates without confirmed bookings have
the following validity periods:
- Air
Awards are valid for 6 months from date of issue.
- Non-air Awards are valid for 3
months from date of issue.
Note: Once tickets are issued, name changes and destination changes are
not permitted.

As
a reminder, selected domestic routes will close 10 minutes earlier. SAA
domestic flights for check-in will close 40 minutes prior to boarding
in lieu of 30 minutes for domestic departures from Johannesburg to
Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and East London.

Our
unaccompanied minors service ensures that from check-in to destination,
your child is always under the best care. Book a flight
with South African Airways with the knowledge that your child will be
taken care of when travelling alone. An unaccompanied minor is a child
(5 to 11 years old) who is travelling without the supervision of a
parent
or guardian who is 16 years or older on an SAA flight.
- Children,
under the age of five, are not accepted for the unaccompanied minors
service.
- For the purpose of fares, any passenger
between the ages of 12 to16 is considered an adult. Therefore, no
special
handling is required unless requested by the parent.
- Reservations for unaccompanied minors
cannot be booked on-line. Please contact our call centre on 011 978
1111.
- Place a
meal requests for your child at time of booking, or at least 24 hours
before departure.
- Inform us of any critical information
such as the language of the child if he / she cannot speak English,
first time flyer, date of birth and medication. As for the latter, some
children might
need to be cleared by our medical reservations office.
