SAA asks customers to comment on India menu
Johannesburg. 18 June 2009. South African Airways (SAA) has embarked on an initiative to enhance its product offering and service delivery on flights between Johannesburg and Mumbai, India.
This forms part of a broader project that will be rolled out to all of SAA’s international routes.
The airline has begun the process with an intensive review of the meals served to passengers on the route to Mumbai.
Travel agents and customers will be asked to give their input on the current menu being served in Business and Economy class out of Johannesburg and to provide suggestions on how to improve the selection.
Customer feedback is critical in order to ensure that SAA is offering a product that is in line with their needs.
The review will look at the overall meal presentation, taste, quality, as well as quantity of the current meals, amongst others.
Feedback from travel agents and customers will be used for the design of the new menu to be served on flights to India from August this year when the high season begins on this route.
The menu on the route is changed every four months and is based on the travel patterns of passengers.
The recent influx of visitors to South Africa from India to attend the IPL cricket tournament also spurred SAA on to kick off the improvement initiative with the Mumbai route. The airline received a number of meal suggestions and requests during this time which will be used as input into the design of the new menu.
Together with safety, ensuring customers are offered a service and product in line with their needs and expectations are key priorities for SAA. The airline is consistently working to improve on its offering and to close any service gaps that may exist.
SAA operates four flights per week between Johannesburg and Mumbai.
