South African Airways (SAA), has expressed it's heartfelt condolences to the people of Haiti and particularly to those who have lost family and friends in the tragic events in Haiti.
"The Staff and Leadership of SAA convey to the people of Haiti our thoughts and prayers during these tragic and heartbreaking times. The pictures and images that we have seen of the human tragedy left in the wake of the massive earthquake that struck the island Wednesday have moved us deeply," says Chris Smyth, Acting CEO of the airline.
As a way of expressing our compassion to the people of Haiti and to reach out to them, the airline is working as part of the South African government team in offering whatever support we can to the people of Haiti.
Staff has also been asked to make contributions in any way they can, in the form of money, donations, blankets or clothing, which will be airlifted along with donated medical supplies.
