On Business, an innovative travel management product from South African Airways (SAA) offers small to large companies in South Africa and around the world the opportunity to manage their own travel requirements while maximising convenience and saving costs.
On Business is a personalised and complete online service for company travel.
Accessible through SAA’s website, www.flysaa.com, it presents to companies the opportunity to manage all of their travel requirements from the comfort of the office.
“In developing this new product we have taken into consideration that the face of air travel is rapidly evolving and at the same time individual and corporate travellers are having to adjust to a tricky global economy.
“On Business allows companies to take charge of their travel requirements, alleviate all inconveniences associated with booking air travel and at the same time manage your travel spend,” says Mike Re, SAA Chief Information Officer.
There are approximately 7000 businesses registered with SAA’s On Business and this is growing by at least 20 additional companies a day. While this consists largely of South African companies the number of companies throughout Africa is growing fast.
SAA is capable of offering the product to international markets and is working on promoting it in these.
“Businesses are realising the benefits of being in control of their travel from start to finish,” says Re.
On Business offers a protected booking channel for businesses. Once registered the company corporate administrator adds the profiles of each employee requiring business travel. This includes their personal details, names, surnames, frequent flyer number, etc.
The credit card details used to book travel for the company can be lodged with SAA. This allows for automatic authentication of payments made. “This means, no more having to fax copies of the credit card used to pay for a booking or contacting the airline to ensure authentication and confirmation of the booking,” says Re.
This also eliminates the need to present the credit card at check-in.
Apart from making bookings and managing these reservations, the company’s corporate administrator can at any time draw reports on sales and flown revenue . Traveller profiles, company details and credit card details can be edited and updated.
Companies can also book travel for guests. These are individuals invited by the company for any reason and who only need to travel ‘once-off’.
Selected employees can be nominated and profiled as Travel Assistants . They have limited ability and authority to book and manage reservations, which is linked to their own profile on On Business.
“On Business is a revolution in air travel and with all the benefits and convenient functionality which is being built on consistently, we are confident of additional growth in this area,” says Re.
