Daily Flights Down Under

Winter in Perth is far from boring with a multitude of opportunities for memorable experiences in one of the world’s most liveable cities. Perth is the capital and largest city of Western Australia that offers a wide variety of attractions covering all interests from wildlife, natural spaces and beaches, to shopping, dining out, culture, and art. The Winter Arts season ends on the 31st of August and it offers remarkable cultural experiences involving music, theatre, comedy, cabaret, dance, film, circus, and public art installations.

Main Attractions

  • Explore the city and learn about its colourful past on a free walking tour guided by an i-City Volunteer.
  • Enjoy a picnic and witness the city come alive with light as the sun sets over Perth’s towering city buildings across the dazzling waters of Swan River.
  • Get back to nature. Visit Kings Park, the jewel in the city’s crown, and the largest inner-city park in the world.
  • The award-winning Perth Zoo is home to a variety of native and exotic animals from around the globe, as well as world-famous breeding programmes for critically endangered species.

Showcasing Africa

SAA is focused on strengthening its intra-Africa network in line with its Africa Expansion programme.

Adding even more destinations to our already extensive Africa route network, gives our customers more travel options to thriving destinations that were previously difficult to reach by air.

Spring in Beijing

This September, why not take time out to explore the traditional folk customs of China. The Mid-Autumn Festival is the second grandest festival after the Spring Festival in China. It takes its name from the fact that it is always celebrated in the middle of their autumn season.

The day is also known as the Moon Festival, as at that time of the year the moon is at its roundest. On this day, family members gather to appreciate the bright full moon, eat moon-cakes at night, express strong yearnings toward their homes and think of family members who live far away.

Other attractions to take in, include:

The magnificent Forbidden City is the largest and the best-preserved imperial palace complex in the world. It has 9,999 rooms in flourishing period with just a single room short of the number that ancient Chinese belief represents ‘Divine Perfection’ and surrounded by a moat six metres deep and ten-metre high wall. For five centuries, this palace functioned as the administrative centre of the country.

The Great Wall of China is one of the ‘Eight Wonders of the World’ and is enlisted in the World Heritage Directory. This immense wall was built to keep out invaders as well as to retain the inhabitants. It spans five provinces from Shanhaiguan Pass in the east to Jiayuguan Pass in the west.
