SAA Technical (SAAT) is the largest and most advanced full-service maintenance, repair and overhaul organisation on the African Continent. Fully FAA-certified since the early 1990’s, SAAT serves an increasing number of local, regional and international airlines.
Overview
While its main operations comprise extensive premises at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South African Airways Technical (SAAT) also services customers at Cape Town, Durban, Lanseria and smaller airports. Corporatised as a separate company from 1st April 2000, SAAT is currently 100% owned by South African Airways. SAAT is seeking to expand its services to regional and international airlines, particularly those based in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. We have the capability, to meet the requirements of international carriers.
Who We Are
SAA Technical (SAAT) has a staff complement of over 2600. Two thirds of these are maintenance-related staff, with a strong base of technical and engineering skills. The remainder form the support structure, including Engineering, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Finance and Human Resources.
History
SAAT has more than 70 years experience as a world-class aircraft maintenance and repair organisation, with full uninterrupted FAA certification since the early 1990s, serving an increasing number of local and international airlines. While its main operations are at extensive premises at OR Tambo International Airport, it has expanded to also serve customers in Cape Town, Durban and Lanseria.
