South African Airways partners on new blockbuster

As the stars of the the big screen touched down in London with South African Airways, following the successful African premier of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, the airline announces a new partnership with South African Tourism to celebrate the release of the much awaited blockbuster movie in the UK. The brands will work in partnership to promote South Africa in conjunction with the release of the film.

“As the national airline, we bring the world to Africa and we are delighted to be partnering with South African Tourism on such an amazing project,” said Gary Kershaw, GM South African Airways UK.

The film was shot in over 200 locations in South Africa, including the Drakensberg in KwaZulu Natal, Cape Town, Robben Island, and Johannesburg and many other destinations in SAA's extensive Southern Africa network.

Jon Danks, UK Head of Marketing for South African Airways said, “We are delighted to partner the Long Walk to Freedom release. The film will showcase South Africa on a global cinematic stage and inspire a far reaching audience, illustrating the stunning scenery and landscapes the country has to offer, while also telling one of the most incredible true life stories of our time.”
