SAA OBJECTS TO THE USAGE OF ITS CORPORATE IDENTITY TO ATTACK PRESIDENT ZUMA

South African Airways (SAA) has noted with concern the distribution or circulation of an email, purportedly from the SAA Group, with disparaging content about President Jacob Zuma. Despite the email carrying what appears to be the SAA logo at the bottom, we would like to clarify that SAA and all of its subsidiaries, including SAA Technical, distance themselves from its content and origins.

Our internal investigation has revealed that the email did not originate from the company. This appears to have been the work of individual(s) who acted out of malice and intentionally attached our logo and distributed the email, creating the impression that it originated from one of our staff members.

SAA finds this conduct strongly objectionable and mischievous, and takes a dim view of the unauthorised use of its corporate identity. The company will not tolerate the use of its resources or identity to ridicule the President or the South African government and will not hesitate to act against those who could be in breach of its code of conduct or any of its policies.

As a responsible corporate citizen, we remain committed to the promotion and protection of the right to human dignity for all.

Chain emails with malicious content continue to be a menace to many brands and SAA takes this matter seriously and as such will endeavour to protect the integrity and the reputation of its brand.
